Pastor Ron Tucker is a native of central Illinois, born at Shelbyville in 1950. He lived at rural Cowden IL, graduated from Cowden High School in 1968. Attended Greenville College, Greenville, Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972. He married Joy Carol Lowe of MT Zion IL in 1972, who grew up in the Decatur FMC and they lived in the Cowden area where they raised their two children Tami and Toby. They attended and were actively involved in the Cowden Free Methodist church, working and teaching with all age levels. Ron served interim Free Methodist pastorates at Tower Hill IL and Taylorville IL in the early 1990s while living at Cowden and working secular employment in Assumption IL.
In 1994 Ron was appointed as pastor of the Coffeen IL FMC for seven years, then continued as a bi-vocational pastor at the Shelbyville IL FMC for nine years.
Ron retired from full-time pastoral ministry in 2010, he and Joy moved to Assumption IL where he continues secular employment at Sloan Implement Co. They began attending Moundford FMC and are actively involved with all age levels of ministry. Ron is a located elder at Moundford FMC.
