Pastor Wick has worked previously as a Youth Pastor, writer, worship leader, speaker, public relations, marketing and sales. Wick has a large passion for outreach, and for evangelism to those outside the walls of the church. In his own words, “The passion is not merely to assimilate them to the local church body, and get their names on the attendance list, but to introduce them to Christ, and in Him have their names written in the book of life.” He recognized early on by the grace of God, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit he could be an effective minister, encourage people from all walks of life to open their hearts to Christ. He has a particular calling to love, nurture and lead children, teenagers and their families to a more in-depth relationship and experience with Christ. He enjoys singing, has a huge passion for music, and worshiping God through it. He enjoys everything from the high energy youth stuff, to quiet moments with coffee and books, and pouring over the Word with minds that are receptive.
Wick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry from Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) located in Bourbonnais, Illinois, and is nearing completion of an MDIV from Wesley Seminary at IWU. He has traveled the Midwest in several different official and “for fun” bands and worship teams through his college days.
During that time, Wick also worked for over a year both as a worship pastor, and with the Junior/Senior High of College Church of the Nazarene, in Bourbonnais, IL. After college, he spent two years as Youth Pastor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before relocating to Decatur in 2005 to be closer to family. He began working here at Moundford FMC in June 2006, and was ordained as an Elder in the Free Methodist Church in June 2009.
Wick and Sarah Anderson were joined in marriage on December 21st, 2002. Sarah has a degree in Elementary Education, is currently a stay at home mother & primary educator of their 4 incredible children: Addison, Sophie, Ruby, and Phoebe. Parenthood is leading both Chadwick and his wife into new seasons of their journey with Christ, and in serving Him in ministry together.
Pastor Wick has also written a book called “Different: How God Uses Parenting to Transform Us Wholly“, available to download from Amazon! The conversation begun in that book continues on his parenting blog at: http://www.differentparent.com
